Elizabeth Sirles, Ph.D.

Elizabeth Sirles, Ph.D.Dr. Sirles is the Director of the School of Social Work at University of Alaska Anchorage . The Director is responsible for the day to day operations of the school and management of the school’s resources. She is also the MSW Program Coordinator, responsible for overseeing the day-today operations of the MSW program, MSW program development, and working with the social work faculty and staff, UAA administration, and Council on Social Work Education to ensure MSW program integrity. Dr. Sirles received her Ph.D. from Washington University at St. Louis and her MSW from the University of Kansas . She joined the faculty of UAA in 1995. Prior to this, Dr. Sirles served on the faculty of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as the Coordinator for the Marriage and Family Therapy Certificate Program from 1986-1995. Her practice experience includes four years as the full-time program director for a child abuse treatment program at the Washington University Child Guidance Clinic. Areas of expertise include domestic violence and intra-family child sexual abuse. She has presented and published extensively on these topics.
